If you wish to come to the UK for business purposes you will first need to obtain a business visit visa. You can apply for a Business Visit Visa on the basis that you have business commitments in the UK.
If you wish to come to the UK as an entertainer you will first need to obtain an Entertainment Visit Visa.
If you work in the theatre or in film, either as an actor or behind the scenes worker you can apply for an Entertainment Visit Visa.
The General Visit Visa is for those people who wish to come to the UK as tourists or to visit friends and family. All applicants under the General Visit Visa category must be at least 18 years old
UK Special Visit Visas are the alternative to all other Visit Visas. A Special Visit Visa is for someone who wants to come to visit the UK but is not a tourist, business visitor, entertainer or sports visitor.
A Sports Visit Visa is suitable if you would like to come to the UK for up to six months to take part in a Sports event but in a non-professional capacity.
A Tourist Visit Visa is suitable if you want to come and visit the UK for up to six months to take a holiday and experience British culture. With the UK Tourist Visitor Visa the applicant cannot work or attend a place of study.
An academic visitor is someone applying to a British university to conduct research or take part in an exchange programme.
