The UK Border Agency has increased UK Visa fees.
The UK Border Agency has announced new UK Visa fee increases, due to come into effect 6th April 2011.Here are a few highlights:
- Proposals to double the charge for a short-term UK student visa to £140.
- Tier 1 Post Study will increase from £344 to £474
- Tier 4 from £220 to £255
- Settlement has rose from £750 to £810
In his statement, Immigration minister Damian Green announced: “The fees allow us to generate revenue which is used to fund the UK immigration system and to set certain fees below cost recovery to support wider government objectives. The revenue generated will contribute towards securing our Borders and controlling migration for the benefit of the UK.
“Given the need to reduce public spending, we have had to carefully consider our fee levels, to ensure we can maintain good service levels to our customers and secure the border for the general public.”
