Worried about the Immigration Cap?

Immigration Cap - UKBAHome Secretary, Theresa May announced last week the new limits that have been set for the permanent immigration cap.

The new immigration cap will leave many applications refused or put in a queue along with thousands of other applications.

The cap will mainly affect non-EU migrants wishing to immigrate to the UK under Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the points based system.

Tier 1 UK visas have been limited to just 1,000 per year. Sparking concerns for Highly Skilled migrants wishing to come to the UK to work.

An annual Tier 2 UK visa limit of 20,700 (excluding intra-company transfers) has been set. The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) recommended a limit of between 29,400 and 32,600 per year; however intra-company transfers were included in the Committee’s calculations.

Tier 4 represents student visas. This is the next step of the immigration cap to be decided.

The category accounts for two thirds of immigration to the UK each year. The number of students coming to Britain from outside the EU is estimated to be cut to around 87,000.

UK Visa & Immigration are advising people who wish to come to the UK for work or study to apply as soon as possible for their Visa to avoid Delays.

“Even though you may not wish to come to the UK until late next year you can still apply for your visa now,” Says manager Ash Shadat.
