Why Study in the UK?

Visa

Anyone over 18 who wishes to take a course of education. Granted for an initial period of one year, usually determined by the length of the course to be studied. Permission to commence part time work of up to 20 hours per week and full time during holidays. The Visa also gives permission for the student to undertake a work placement as part of their university course. Applicant must show that they have been accepted onto a course of study at a recognised educational institution.

Student Visit Visa

UK Student Visit Visas are for temporary students who are studying on courses of 6 months duration or less. The applicant will be able to stay in Britain for up to 6 months.

Candidates in the UK with a Student Visit Visa will not be able to extend their visa.

A Student Visit Visa enables a person to enter the UK to study on a short course. Within this time it will enable them to experience British culture and the British way of life. Can sometimes be applied for at the airport; however it is best to check this first with the British Embassy in your current home of residence.

Academic Visit Visa

An academic visitor is someone applying to a British university to conduct research or take part in an exchange programme. The applicant will be able to stay in Britain for up to 12 months with an Academic Visit Visa. An Academic Visit Visa enables a person to enter the UK to conduct research or take part in an exchange programme. This is an excellent opportunity to experience British culture. Evidence that the applicant has worked as an academic in an institution of Higher Education overseas will need to accompany the application.
Prospective Student Visa Prospective Student Visas are for people who intend to study in the UK but have not yet been accepted on a course of study. The applicant will be able to stay in the UK for up to 6 months. This will enable them to explore their educational options. A Prospective Student Visa enables a person to enter the UK to look for a place of study. The applicant must be financially stable throughout their entire stay in the UK.
