UK Border Agency Budget Cut By 20%
Over the next four years the UK Border Agency’s budget will reduce by 20% as part of the government’s plans to reduce the public deficit.
The UK Border Agency has said that one of its main priorities will be securing the border and controlling migration.
In a statement from the Border Agency they said “While meeting our international obligations, we will drive down the cost of asylum support and make greater use of technology, focusing efforts on the greatest risks and improving productivity.”
The UK Border Agency has said that although it will be smaller it will be more efficient by balancing funding from the taxpayer with income from fees for migrants and visitors to the UK.
