Nicola Dandridge, the chief executive of the higher education action group, of Universities UK has claimed that the success and reputation of UK universities could be at risk if further restrictions are placed on applicants.
Vicar jailed after UK Marriage scam 08th September 2010
A former vicar was sentenced to four years in jail yesterday for his involvement in a UK immigration scam.
Vicar Alex Brown, 61, and two others were convicted following a seven week trial. The scams lead him to conduct as many as eight marriages a day. This then allowed the UK Visa holders the right to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
October and November 2010 UK Immigration fees increase 13th September 2010
There will be further immigration fee increases as announced by UK Immigration. Some increases will occur in October 2010 with the rest to follow in November. These increases are added on top of the increases that occurred in April 2010. It is likely that you will have to pay higher fees if you are a national of a non-EU Country that wishes to study, visit, work or gain entry to the UK.
Columbian journalist refused UK Visa 14 September 2010
Award-winning Colombian journalist, Claudia Duque who wanted to come to Britain to give a speech about her work in upholding human rights has been refused entry.
The UK was the only country in the EU to refuse her Visa request. The Home Office has been criticised for this action.
Indians held in UK for Labour trafficking 16th September 2010
Three Indians in their thirties were arrested on suspicion of labour trafficking offences after Northamptonshire police officers and officials from the East Midlands immigration crime team executed warrants at a hotel.
Two Indian men were found to be working against their will in poor conditions and have been taken to a safe place.
Cable: End damaging immigration cap17th September 2010
Lib Dem Business secretary, Vince Cable has voiced his concerns over the Governments immigration cap. Cable branded it as “very damaging” to British industry because it prevents employers from hiring skilled workers.

Union have called of UK immigration staff strike 20th September 2010
The union have called off a strike by UK immigration staff, which would have sparked travel chaos for passengers arriving in the UK.
2,300 members planned to walk out for 48 hours from midnight next Thursday. This was the Immigration Service Union’s (ISU) first strike in almost 30 years. The walk out was over a roster dispute.

A restaurant in Aberdeen could now face a fine of £40,000 after four Bangladeshi illegal workers were arrested.
Officers stormed in the Jewel in the Crown restaurant on 21st September to interrogate staff and make certain they have the right to work in the UK.
Seven Illegal workers arrested at car wash 28th September 2010
The enforcement operation to tackle illegal workers in the UK has resulted in another three people being arrested.
Seven immigration offenders were found after a raid on an Essex carwash, including a 10 year old girl.
Fines of up to £10,000 per illegal worker could be issued.
English language tests for UK marriage visa could breach human rights 30th September 2010
Human rights lawyers have spoken up about Home Office plans to introduce UK immigration English language tests for marriage visas which are due to come into force in November. In a statement they have said that requiring people who want to move to the UK to marry UK citizens to take an English language test could breach human rights.
Under the law of human rights everyone has the right to family life. However a lack of English language skills could lead to people being refused a UK marriage visa which in turn could break the law.
Seven illegal workers arrested in Bradford 4th October 2010
The UK Border Agency officers have arrested seven men after they were found to be working illegally at Shimla Kebab House on Great Horton Road in Bradford.
