Columbian journalist Refused UK Visa by the Home Office
The Home Office should be ashamed after refusing an award winning journalist entry to Britain. Claudia Duque was due to give a speech in London as part of a European tour after being invited by the NUJ (National Union of Journalists). The speech was about her work in upholding human rights. I would like to hear the actual reason for the refusal because the UK was the only country in the EU to refuse her visa request.
The last twice we made visa applications to the UK they were refused. The first time was due to “not meeting the requirements” and the second time it was due to WorldBridge omitting the supporting documents. Once we appealed, they approved the visa. We have a current application in with them, so we’ll see what reason they come up with this time for refusing it. I am currently reviewing the UK Visa Application process on my blog. You might find it interesting. I’m British by the way so I don’t even need a visa. The visa we have applied for is for my husband who is not from the EU, and it’s just for a 2 week family visit. The last visa ran out in January this year so you’d think it would be a simple case of getting the visa re-newed or re-issuing without having to do all the biometrics again… like his fingerprints are going to have changed in the last 6 months…?
